So this is as colorful and festive as I'll get for July 4th (unless it's for a Rutgers football game). I tend to stick to darker or neutral colors just because they usually match with anything. But anyways, so my "red, white, and blue" took a more mature route with maroon, cream and navy. I spent this lovely holiday (and day off) with my family in the city. Not exactly the smartest since it was way too hot and humid and probably one of the busiest days in the city, but it was fun and relaxing nonetheless. We did the typical Asian-touristy stuff while carrying our big DSLR strapped around our necks and my parents' heavy Vietnamese accents. I'm not complaining though, just more things I can add to my summer adventures list: Top of the Rock observatory, ferry around the Hudson, MET Museum, broadway show, cute underground restaurants, etc. It was fun to see the rest of the city so patriotic and enthusiastic too! Ugh, but the humidity is horrible for my hair and the NYC polluted air makes it worse so I had to put it in a braid. Anyways, I hope everyone else enjoyed their days off with tons of good food and great company!
Stay cool (both figuratively and literally),
Mai Sunshine
Style tip: Pairing a flowy top with an equally flowy skirt may make you look like a big triangle so wearing a long necklace will weigh the top down and avoid that from happening.
