I recently went on an interview and as I was whipping out all my business clothes to decide what to wear, I came across this blazer I bought a while ago on sale at H&M. At the time, I didn't think I would ever wear it because 1) it was pink and 2) I don't really wear blazers casually, but I bought it anyways because it was only $20 for a blazer and I thought maybe it'd come in handy for when I had a job or something. But through time, I came to love it a little more since then and it turned out, I did end up wearing it a lot both professionally and casually.
For this outfit, I decided to dress it down and contrast the girliness of the baby pink with some edge (which I've been doing a lot lately). The black folds against the baby pink reminded me of some rocker glam look and that's why I stuck to all black for the rest of the outfit so that the blazer stood out. Remember this DIY shirt from this post? Well, I brought it back again since it's the perfect graphic tee for the outfit. I paired it with black coated jeans with gold zipper details to continue the rocker glam look and the heels balanced out the girliness with the blazer. This wallet, which I've accessorized as a clutch, is one of the many gifts my roommates got me for my 21st and it is just absolutely beautiful. I love the vibrant blue and it worked really nicely as the perfect pop of color to the rest of the outfit.
The right mixture of girly and edgy with the least amount of colors.
Stay chic,
Mai Sunshine
Style Tip: When working with different textures like the coated jeans, it's best to keep the colors simple. Here, I've chosen black as the cohesive color to bring the pieces together while adding simple details like the blue wallet for a little pop.
