With just a few months under this blog's belt, I've been so grateful to have explored so many different opportunities, whether it be networking with various bloggers within and outside the area or meeting equally passionate individuals pursuing their dreams. One of these opportunities included a collaboration with clothing brand Karma Mantra. They have a unique positioning for their brand and have been generous enough to extend their works to me. Be sure to check them out!

With this outfit, I went for a more urban vibe. Plaid and leather are completely in right now and perfect for the fall weather. The contrast of light and tough materials pair the two just right, while the plaid design gives the jacket a more grunge-y feel. And while we're mentioning trends, the tie-around-the-waist look can be seen almost anywhere in fashion right now. Talk about bringing back the 90s! What's actually interesting to me about this style trend is that as a hip-hop dancer on the side, this look has always been pretty popular. So to see it adorned on a lot of bloggers as a current trend is pretty funny to me. But that just means I get to incorporate my dance apparel with my casual apparel, which is all good. The simple midi cotton dress tones the outfit down while bringing the colors together with the complementary gray. What I especially like about this outfit is that the length of the dress layers nicely with the plaid tie-around without overwhelming the look because a maxi dress would just be too much. But of course, I needed to add some accessories and thanks to Karma Mantra, the beanie and necklace were the perfect touches.

Dig out your flannels, or go to your local thrift store to buy a bunch (trust me, they will have lots) because they're coming back!

Fashionably yours,

Style Tip: With the texture and colors of the plaid and leather combo, keep the rest of the outfit simple or neutral-colored so you don't clash with the main focus
