I hope everyone's enjoying their last week (or weeks) of the fall semester! I know I am...not. Got a lot of finals coming up and I'm definitely not looking forward to sleepless nights and a caffeinated diet. But a month break of just relaxing and being lazy is waiting for me on the other side of this hell week so I'm trying to push through! That's also why I've been a bit behind with posts so I apologize.
Geez, so the weather has been pretty crazy here on the East Coast. In fact, it was a freezing 30 degrees with a few days of snow so I was not prepared for the winter season. This outfit was meant for a warmer day but I added extra layers to brave the stinging cold. I love layering sweaters underneath jackets to add that extra warmth while creating different textures. Here, I have the knit cardigan underneath the suede biker jacket (which I happened to get on sale for $20 three months ago!). The green and blues of the flannel button down added darker tones to match the dark gray cardigan and extra pattern to the otherwise basic look, while the light denim boyfriend jeans ($9 at Aeropostale!) made the outfit a little more casual. I usually wear my Nikes for dance or exercising (just kidding, I don't exercise) but it's been a popular trend to pair them with a casual look lately--definitely my go-to pairs of shoes for everyday activities or especially this week when I just feel like bumming and being comfortable.
I wish you all the best of luck on your finals, and if you're already done, I am completely jealous.
Study hard-y and stay warm,
Mai Sunshine
Style Tip: When layering cardigans and jackets, be sure to have the cardigan seen underneath. For example, I wore a long cardigan to slim down the bulky flannel and biker jacket.
