Happy Valentine's Day! Sending all my love and heart to my beautiful followers and supporters! Thank you again for following me on my second holiday series and I hope you guys found it helpful and/or enjoyable <3
Remember how I mentioned that I was a bit hesitant to do a Valentine's Day series in my first outfit's post (here)? Well, it was mainly because I hadn't had any major plans for this evening so I wasn't really going to dress up. I mean I usually don't do much on Valentine's Day (although, I do love all the chocolates) but for my friends who do, I thought I could help out with some styling ideas. For me, this outfit is probably as festive as I'll be for today but I still managed to wear that red like I promised! Well, maroon to be exact but close enough. I chose to contrast the dark color with some whites--both off-white and white white. Just because it's winter and I'm completely surrounded in white snow, doesn't mean you have to hide all your white clothing. I like that it gives a nice balance to the deep red color. I actually wore this fringe dress as a shirt just because I couldn't wait until spring to wear it (thanks Monica for the belated Christmas gift!) and I liked that it added some texture. The off-white color contrasted the pure white color of my jeans so I didn't look like one white blob. I threw on my fur vest for extra layering and texture. This is an everyday look with a bit of Valentine's Day flare.
This concludes my Valentine's Day series. Which outfit was your favorite? Let me know by commenting below!
I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day with your loved ones, whether it's with a significant other or simply with the friends and family you love. Indulge in all the chocolate you want and pop in those romantic chick flicks! At least that's what I'll be doing anyways.
Sincerely yours,
Mai Sunshine
Style tip: Pairing two shades of white is completely okay, as long as you differentiate the two with textures, patterns, and add a contrasting layer. Don't be afraid to wear white in the winter!
