The New Hippie
Crop top (Brandy Melville via Kneeecole), high waisted shorts (thrifted), fringe cardigan (F21 via Aetherlily), floral crown (DIY), sunglasses (street vendor in NYC)

So this is my way of imagining that I am rich and can afford going to music festivals like Coachella. And this is what I'd wear, more or less. Floral crowns are definitely a trend this summer, probably due to all the music concerts like EDC and Coachella where people wear crazy costumes. The modern hippie, if you will. Yeah, so I guess I hopped on the bandwagon and decided to make my own, too. They're pretty easy and you can customize it to however you'd like instead of over-paying for already made ones. AND if you'd like me to make you one because it's too time-consuming, I'll gladly do so for a lot cheaper! Just email me for details :)
Anyways, because I wanted the focus on the crown, I kept the rest of my outfit simple with subtle textures. The crop bralette is actually Brandy Melville but I definitely didn't pay full price. I actually bought it from someone on Storenvy, which is equivalent to Etsy or Wanelo where you can buy things from other people, retail-store free. And usually they're a lot cheaper than store prices. I wore it with light denim striped high waisted shorts and a long fringe cardigan also bought from someone online. As you can see, I kept my colors light and simple to emphasize the floral crown and channel my inner hippie.
Don't be afraid to buy secondhand clothing, either through established websites or directly, because they are almost always cheaper than store price and it's basically thrifting online.
Peace out,
Mai Sunshine
Style Tip: Fringe and florals are a definite must when going for that hippie/bohemian look
