I apologize for the late post! I've had some difficulties with the pictures from this week's original post so I decided to save it for next week instead. Anyways, good thing I had these pictures from a quick photoshoot I did last week to post instead.
The thing I love about black and white clothing is that it gives you complete freedom to work with different patterns without clashing colors. Like what I've done here with my top and kimono. They have different patterns but because they're both black and white, the patterns don't conflict. It also doesn't overwhelm the outfit's color palette because I paired it with subtle fall colors: navy and burgundy. The cropped top was a good contrast to the baggier cargo pants while the kimono brought the two together so it wasn't too heavy-looking on the bottom. I wanted an excuse to finally wear my floppy hat so I figured it would add to the somewhat bohemian look while bringing in a warmer color to the outfit. And these booties were a complete steal for the fall season: $20 Steve Madden from Ross! I love how the studs give it an edgier vibe but simple enough to pair with any outfit. So this is my attempt to combining bohemian with some edge for this breezy season.
On a side note, the beauty about living with four other girls at school means you conveniently have four times the amount of clothes to work with. And to me, that is just what I need since I can't shop much while living on campus. Plus, they're all pretty fashionable themselves so it works out perfectly. Here's a shout out to my roommates for letting me borrow their clothes, and to many more times I will!

Style Tip: With black and white patterns, pair with subtle complementary colors. Since navy and burgundy are darker toned colors, it was easy to pair with the black and white tops without overwhelming or taking away from the focus of the patterns.
