Have I mentioned how exasperatingly lazy I get during the summer days? Don't even get me started when the sun is blazingly and unnecessarily hot. And when such days bore my summer fun, I tend to think less and less about my outfit, but that's not to say I don't stay stylish (or at least try to).
Well, this particular day wasn't as bad as I had described above. In fact, it was actually a perfect day with the right amount of rising temperatures (which makes the introduction a little irrelevant but holds true nonetheless). Anyhow, I will admit I was pretty lazy in putting together this outfit but ain't nothing wrong with lazy if you can still look good! Especially since the maxi dress was already overwhelming with it's shapeless structure and intricate pattern, I didn't want to layer too much and aesthetically distract the eyes. Hence the sweater thrown on top to add a simplistic contrast to the otherwise busy dress. I liked that it was loose enough to balance the heavy bottom of the maxi but not too much where I look like I'm drowning in my own clothes. The loose v-neck cut of the sweater also allowed a little reveal of the dress's straps that I particularly liked when I bought the dress. Some classic aviator sunnies, a bunch of arm candy, and a hint of cranberry lips to sum up my laid back summer look. Who said lazy couldn't look stylin'?
Maxi-ly yours,
Mai Sunshine
Style Tip: Since the maxi dress is of a brown/dark tan and gray-ish hue, I wanted to keep it summer-y but adding a light sweater over.
