Welcome back to day 2 of my NYE outfits series! Like I promised, all weekend I'll be posting up a different look for your special NYE occasion so you'll be party ready for any type of get-together.
If you secretly have a girly side like me (actually, it may not be so secretive for me), then you definitely have a super poofy or princess-like dress you bought a really long time ago thinking it was just so gorgeous and you would totally wear it but then it ended up dusting in the back of your closet because there was no right occasion to wear it...basically, how I ended up with this dress. So I guess this was an excuse to finally bring it out, but I mean what better occasion than NYE to wear this out? It obviously stands out extremely compared to yesterday's outfit but it works for any big fancy party. But don't worry, I threw over a blazer to tone it down so it was more appropriately wearable at social gatherings. And yes, it had to be sequined to match the rest of the NYE theme--had to have sparkle somewhere. These are my favorite heels so far and all thanks to my amazing sister who got them for me for Christmas. I've been eyeing it for a while and thankfully Windsor had a reasonably priced one. It's edgy but sophisticated, and while this outfit is already a big statement, why not have equally statement shoes to match. Plus, you don't want to get your feet lost in all that tulle.
Anyways, this is look #4 of the NYE countdown outfit series and it's meant for those bigger social events complete with hors d'oeuvres and wine...or actually for those parties you just have an excuse to really make a statement.
See you tomorrow,
Mai Sunshine
Style tip: With such a poofy dress that flares out your bottom half, try to opt for a more fitting blazer. And the navy dark color will pair nicely to toughen up the girly pink tones of the dress.
